What is Obey?

Obey was founded in 2001 by artist and activist Shepard Fairey, growing out of his iconic "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign of the late 1980s. The brand channels the energy of punk, hip-hop, and political art into wearable graphics — bold, provocative, and always rooted in a DIY ethos. Obey is one of the few streetwear labels with a genuine fine art lineage, and its seasonal collections continue to reflect Fairey's wider practice as a muralist and printmaker.
